Knysna, South Africa, 7 June 2017. The Garden Route is hammered by off the chart
winds, not a typical forecast for this time of the year, severe drought prevailed fires
started up and soon spiralled out of control destroying everything in its wake, this
was the worst storm in 30 years. 7 lives were lost in this 10 day devastation.

Property owners wake up in disbelief to what is left of their livelihoods, only to be thankful their lives have been spared.

Howling 100kmph winds darken the morning sky, the lagoon is churned up to a vicious reality of what devastation is to come.

People become trapped in areas adorning the lagoon, the steady incoming tide is hampering rescue efforts, here people cling to the railing of the old steel train bridge.
